On June 18, 2025, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas ordered a nationwide ban on the HIPAA Privacy Rule Amendments to Support Reproductive Health Care Privacy that have been mandatory for HIPAA Covered Entities and Business Associates since December 23, 2024.
The court’s order applies to all HIPAA Regulated Entities (Health Care Providers, Plans, Clearinghouses and Business Associates).
